Meet the staff at The Generator Business Centre

Merton Chamber of Commerce is delighted to manage the Merton Means Business service on behalf of Merton Council. The service, which includes the Generator Business Centre, is a perfect fit for the Chamber's work with small to medium businesses and in particular with pre-starts and start-ups.

Our aspiration is to create a knowledge and activity hub offering a range of services for all types of businesses and at all stages of development.

Charlene Beard

I joined the Merton Chamber of Commerce as an Intern as part of the Future Jobs Fund scheme. My role at the Generator Business Centre is as Marketing/Administration Assistant. Having spent my working life in professional sales, I now intend to focus my career in marketing and working at the Generator Business Centre has provided me with this opportunity and furnished me with adequate skills and a wealth of knowledge.

Clair Attwater

I have extensive experience in customer service, sales and administration and working along small businesses. I relished the opportunity to return to work helping and supporting the small businesses within The Generator. My position includes ensuring tenants and visitors to the Generator are happy with the services provided and that the business centre is run efficiently.

Clair Attwater
Generator Property Assistant

Since joining the team in March 2011 I have had the opportunity to work on many different projects. My main role is to support the team at The Generator Business Centre to ensure that the database is up to date as well as helping to promote events and workshops that are held on site.

I also work closely on the MMB service to ensure that businesses within the Merton Borough are being nurtured and are offered support in areas which are needed in order for them to progress.

Administration & Marketing Assistant

Kevan Dunne

As a SFEDI accredited business consultant, I have extensive experience in the enterprise support sector having worked in supporting SME’s for over 13 years.  I specialise in business planning, financial analysis and in developing viable financial proposals for presentation to potential lenders/investors.  I have successfully assisted over 50 small business clients to raise finance in recent years to start or grow their business, totalling some £1.5m.

Most importantly, working with a client developing an effective business plan and follow up support greatly increases the chance of success and identifies whether the business is really viable and delivers what the owner wants from it both financially and non-financially.
